My mother has Polycystic Kidney disease. She is in renal failure and currently does dialysis at home. She needs a healthy donor with type O blood. All medical costs such as testing and the transplant itself are covered by her insurance. We are located in Central Illinois, but all testing can be done at your local doctors office or hospital. If anyone would be interested in donating please call the OSF Transplant office at 309-655-4101 and tell them you would like to be tested to donate a kidney to Patricia Holobaugh. If you would like information on kidney donation they will be more than happy to send you a packet.

There can be no greater gift than the gift of life. Ever since I was little I was convinced I would be my mother's donor. I wanted to be the one who saved her. I was tested twice to be her donor but due to antibodies, we just weren't matching up. I have since found out that I also have PKD and it has already spread to both kidneys. As I see what she is going through, I see my future. My childrens future as well. I would like to see that there's hope in our future. I would like to see that there are loving individuals out there willing to share the gift of life with others. She currently does peritoneal dialysis at home. She has to exchange her fluids every 4 hours, it is very intrusive and time consuming. However, she is always positive and never lets anything get her down. She is a very strong woman and I can only hope to be as brave as her...
